Bjørn sagstad, the conductor
The Norwegian conductor Bjørn Sagstad (1968) has his formal music education from Royal Northern College of Music in England, Grieg Academy of music and University of Tromsø and Trondheim/NTNU in Norway- studying orchestra, opera and choir conducting. Sagstad has also attended several international conducting master classes with Jorma Panula, Tsung Yeh and Kirk Trevor.
Bjørn Sagstad has worked with the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra, Trondheim Symphony Orchestra, The Oulu Symphony in Finland, Music Vitae in Sweden, Århus Sinfonietta in Denmark, Hong Kong Sinfonietta and almost all of the professional military ensembles in Scandinavia and the Royal Marine in Netherlands.
His work expands from the classical masters and contemporary music to ballet, opera, choir, entertainment and folk music. He has developed and conducted several concepts where the orchestras meet children and families.

First prize Nordic Conducting Competition, Sweden, semi finalist Norwegian Conducting Competition and finalist in the Norwegian Opera Conducting Competition.
